PhD-Program Congress
(Retreat)
Our final scientific conference (Retreat) of the innovative research program "Immune Modulation in Respiratory Diseases,"
or RESPImmun for short, will take place on 9 September 2025. The conference will take place in the auditorium
of the Medical University of Graz and offers our young researchers an exclusive platform to exchange ideas about their
essential work. Internationally renowned experts and the entire faculty of the program are invited to discuss the
interdisciplinary research and provide inspiration for future work, as well as to initiate and sustainably strengthen
collaborations. The planned event will place a special emphasis on the further development of science communication. The
goal is to increase the transparency of our research projects and results and to specifically promote dialogue with the
public. For this purpose, Jens Lang, a nationally recognized science journalist (ORF), will be invited as a keynote
speaker. He will share his extensive expertise with our researchers and provide inspiration for effective and responsible
communication practices. An additional highlight will be the guest lecture by a world-leading lung researcher, Professor
Susanne Herold (Justus Liebig University Giessen).
